The Black Caiman is a species of aggressive animal in Green Hell added in the water update V.0.3.0

Basic Info[edit | edit source]

The Black Caiman are a large crocodilian reptile, it has dark colored scaly skin. They can be found living around large lakes and rivers. One of the main locations they can be found is the Anaconda Camp.

These predatory animals blend well into the surrounding environment, they can quite easily be mistaken for logs laying along the waters edge. Black caimans are fast swimmers but move slow when on land. Caution is advised when traveling along riverbeds and lakes, as the black caiman can lunge out of the water and attack the unsuspecting player. Once a caiman is aware of the player they will follow them for a very long distance, often unknown to the player. As they move very quietly they can attack a long time after the encounter.

The Black Caiman require several hits in order to be killed. The player should avoid getting too close to the black caimans mouth as one bite will lead to instant death. They can be killed using ranged weapons such as spears or bow and arrows.

Once dead, the black caiman can be harvested for four raw Black Caiman Meat and four bones. The meat then can be cooked, smoked, stewed or dried and eaten.
