A letter from Tiago addressed to Marcela can be found in a cave next to a sleeping bag. In the letter Tiago talks about a man the cartel have captured, it is unclear who the man was, but after bring him back to the Drug Facility workers started to get sick with the virus.

Marcela,
I saw you between the trees yesterday. It's not good that you came so soon, I'm not ready yet. I didn't call out to you, because it's gotten too dangerous here. I'll find you later. For now, don't get close to the lab! A couple of days ago they caught some gringo who was wandering in the jungle, and they brought this damned disease here along with him! Raul got sick right away, and I ran away not to catch it. We will have to go with somebody else, but don't worry, I'll find someone.
I'm sorry nothing is going according to the plan, but I can still fix it, I just need a moment's rest. It's so hot and stifling in the jungle that it's gotten difficult to write - the letters are dancing in front of my eyes. It's best if you hide in this cave, it's safe and cool here. Drink lots of water! Just not from the river, that's were we poured the chemicals.
