Saving is an mechanic that saves the players games progress.

Save slots

Saving The Game[edit | edit source]

Saving the game allows the player to save their position in the rainforest and keep their inventory the same so they can safety quit the game and return to continue where they last saved.

For survival mode, saving can only be done on certain buildings which the player will first need to build. During story mode the player also has the option to save using calender's found at certain locations.

Green Hell currently offers four save slots.

Backing Up & Accessing Your Saves[edit | edit source]

Steam Cloud[edit | edit source]

You can find your Steam Cloud save folder by doing the following:

  1. Press the Left Windows key to bring up the find/search function.
  2. Type in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata and click OK
  3. You will see a folder with numbers, this is your unique steam ID. Open this folder
  4. Go to folder called 815370
  5. Then remote folder

  • The Directory will look something like this: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\[ Your unique Steam ID]\815370\remote
  • Saves are called NewSlot(number).sav. First save is called NewSlot0.sav, second NewSlot1.sav etc.

LocalLow[edit | edit source]

LocalLow contains backed up saves.

  1. Press the Left Windows key to bring up the find/search function.
  2. Type in %appdata% and click OK
  3. Back out of Roaming Folder, back to the Appdata Folder
  4. Go to LocalLow
  5. The Folder named Creepy Jar
  6. Then Green Hell folder

  • The Directory will look something like this: C:\Users\ **Your Username** \AppData\LocalLow\Creepy Jar\Green Hell
  • Saves will show as Slot0.sav_backup, Slot1.sav_backup etc.

Save Points[edit | edit source]

This is a list of buildings where you can save the game.
Please note that some shelters have a sleep & save point, in this case the save point will be located at the front of the building.
