The audio recording by Dr Smith, report number twenty-six provides details of Dr Smith's test results of Quassia Amara, he concludes the plants holds no medical properties which can be used as part of the cure for the virus.
The recording can be found on one of the tables in the research laboratory at the Omega Camp.
Transcription of Recording
Doctor Smith, report number twenty-six. Observations on Quassia amare. A shrub from the Simaroubaceae family, the compound inflorescence and small, long, intensely red leaves. Distinctive Characteristics: its flowers contain chemical compounds, quassin among other, which makes this shrub one of the most bitter plants in the world. The natives use it to make a brew for fevers and pain. Unfortunately, aside from this usage, I haven't found evidence of any other medical properties. Apart from it's terrible taste, the plant doesn't have any other distinguishable features. Of course, a sample along with full biochemical analysis will be included in the nearest transport. I hope this time they reach their destination without any problems. End of report.
