Basic Info

The dart frog notebook page written by Jake can be first be seen on a crate during the tutorial. If the player misses it the first time, they will see it further on in the tutorial pinned to the cork board. It details a ritual that is carried out using the poison from the dart frog.

This deadliest amphibian on the plant is completely harmless for the natives thanks to kambo ritual.

South American tribes catch a living frog to extract the poison, then they puncture burned skin of children with small doses of frog poison, until they become immune to it.

Triva

In the real world, Kambo also known as sapo is a poisonous substance that the giant monkey frog secretes. Indigenous tribes of South America use kambo in traditional cleansing rituals. First they catch a live the giant monkey frog by it's legs and scrape the substance off it's back. The shaman then carries out the ritual which involves burning the skin and then applying the kambo. People who are treated with kambo experience dizziness, nausea and vomiting.
